It’s finally here! The dreaded feared and yet kind of exciting day of the year! NaNoWriMo time! I have prepped all of my notes in Dabble, have stocked up on Chai and coffee and am rip-roaring ready to go!
Due to the demand of this month and how much writing there will need to be outside of my blog, I have pre-queued and written all of my posts save for my MSQ Wednesday’s which will be reserved for updates on my progress along with Jei’s progress in NaNoWriMo.
We have decided to take on two separate projects and have come up with very different stories to tell. We are both looking forward to the challenge. It’s time to see what we are made of!
Here’s what we have so far and what we will be updating through the month:
Sy’s NaNo Project
Genre: Fantasy (Dark Fantasy)
Working Title: The Broken Covenant
Main Character: A Mage-Priest named Corith
2 Sentence Pitch: A young mage struggles with a society torn asunder by the horrors of unnatural magic. Taught to care for the less fortunate, he must choose between the common man and those who would line the path to the crown with their bones.
Word Count: 5518
Favorite Line: “Trouble and I are old friends, Corith. You should know that by now.” Swinging one arm over the mage-priests shoulder she smirked. “So come in to call that favor I owe you or were you just looking to leave behind your priestly ways for a more profitable profession?”
Thoughts thus Far: Holy crap is it hard to shut the inner editor up! I am literally trying so hard NOT to look back right now.

Jei’s NaNo Project
Genre: Sci-Fi (Cyberpunk)
Working Title: Real Body Blues
Main Character: A Desperate Thief
2 Sentence Pitch: After botching the score of a lifetime and winding up in another man’s body, a thief finds himself on the run from his former employer that wants his head, a faceless assassin that always finds their target and what seems like half the city’s criminal element. Struggling to come to grips with his new identity, he just wants to make it out alive and maybe make a pile of credits along the way.
